The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh is one of the apex healthcare institutions established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. AIIMS Rishikesh was set up as a part of the initiative to establish a series of AIIMS institutions across the country to bring world-class healthcare, education, and research to various regions of India. AIIMS Rishikesh was officially established in 2012 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, AIIMS Rishikesh is located in the historic city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, which is renowned both as a spiritual center and for its scenic beauty.
