AVVM Sri Pushpam College

A. Veeriya Vandayar Memorial Sri Pushpam College, Poondi, often referred to as AVVM Sri Pushpam College, was founded in 1956 by Rao Bahadur Shri A. Veeriya Vandayar and Shri A. Krishnaswamy Vandayar. Initially affiliated with the University of Madras, it later became affiliated with Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. AVVM Sri Pushpam College holds recognition from the University Grants Commission and approval from the All India Council for Technical Education, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi. Located in Poondi, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, the college is approximately 12 kilometers away from Thanjavur Junction Railway Station, 15 kilometers from the TNSTC Bus Depot, and 72 kilometers from Tiruchirappalli International Airport. AVVM Sri Pushpam College has received accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college hosts various clubs and organizations, including the National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), USSC, SLSC, Students Consumers' Forum, NIS, YRC, Nature Club, Exnora Club, Poondi Pura, and Sri Pushpam Service Scheme. These groups engage in activities that contribute to the betterment of society, promote patriotism, and encourage service to the nation, among other objectives.
