KL University, formerly known as KL College of Engineering, is a renowned educational institution that has made significant strides in the field of higher education since its establishment in 1980-81. Located in a picturesque setting on the banks of the Buckingham Canal of river Krishna, the university boasts a sprawling 100-acre campus encompassing a built-up area of over 20,00,000 square feet. Known as "Green Fields," this idyllic campus is situated just eight kilometers away from the vibrant city of Vijayawada. The university's rich history dates back to its inception as KL College of Engineering, which achieved autonomous status in 2006, accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In recognition of its outstanding educational standards and commitment to excellence, the institution was granted deemed university status by the UGC and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2009. The dedication and vision of the late co-founder, Er. Koneru Lakshmaiah, and the founder, Er. Koneru Satyanarayana, have been instrumental in shaping this prestigious institution into a center of academic brilliance, revered across the nation. The permanent campus for this off-campus site is currently under development in Bachupally. The university's commitment to expansion continued with the inauguration of its second off-campus site in 2022, located in Bowrampet Village, Medchal, Malkajgiri District, Greater Hyderabad. Recognizing the institution's commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) awarded KL University with an 'A' grade in 2012, followed by an 'A++' grade in the year 2018. Furthermore, the UGC and MHRD declared the university a Category I Institution in 2019, further solidifying its reputation as a premier educational institution.
