St. John's College of Arts and Science is the realisation of a long-held ambition to provide educational opportunities to poor communities along Kanyakumari District's coastline. Reverend Fathers V. John Bosco and Albin Roby founded the college and have served as trustees of the JVDC Trust (Jan Vriend Development Centre Trust) for the past 12 years. This charity was formed with the goal of encouraging higher education among young individuals from disadvantaged origins in the coastal area. The charity is sponsored by Reverend Father Jan Vriend of the Netherlands, who has committed his ecclesiastical and ecumenical philanthropy to assisting the impoverished and marginalised. Once completed, the AQAR is given to the Governing Body for approval, and required actions are taken to further improve the quality of education delivered by the college based on the suggestions stated in the report.
