IIMA is among the first management institutes in India to present an audited placements report since 2011.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has completed the final placement process for its one-year MBA program (PGPX) at the end of june 2024. From the IIMA PGPX class of 2024, about 121 students accepted offers from a variety of industries, regions, and financial situations.
The students of the PGPX 2024 batch were offered a wide range of responsibilities by up to 105 firms from varied sectors, according per the final audited placement report of IIM Ahmedabad.
IIMA is among the first management institutes in India to present an audited placements report since 2011. The final audited placement report, in accordance with the "Indian Placement Reporting Standards" (IPRS), was audited by an external agency and finalized in August 2024, according to an institute statement released in this regard.
It further stated that there is still a healthy balance between new and returning recruiters in the placements, which is indicative of strong demand for the PGPX program's diversity.
The largest hiring sector is management and technology consulting, which is followed by IT services, BFSI, and healthcare. The placement report from IIM Ahmedabad states that thirty-five percent of the students were hired by management and technology consultancy businesses. The BFSI, healthcare, and information technology (IT) sectors employed about 18 per cent, 12 per cent, and 10 per cent of graduates, respectively.
The Placement Committee Chair, Professor Viswanath Pingali, expressed his opinions about the placements for 2024, saying, "This year's One Year MBA (PGPX) placements continue to demonstrate exceptional performance, despite challenging economic conditions." The industry's continuous faith in our program is exemplified by these data.
It is still the case that IIMA PGPX students favor middle and senior management positions, as well as leadership roles, from recruiters in India and abroad. Students, including female students, were hired for a variety of jobs, including vice president, head of program, head of product, head of associate director, head of leadership programs, and consultant.
Large corporations gave the IIMA PGPX students a lot of consideration for middle management and senior leadership positions, but start-ups, both unicorns and soon-to-be unicorns, also hired students this year.
