NIT Patna: A look at last 5 years NIRF Rankings

After ranking 19th in the 2023 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), the National Institute of Patna now holds a position under the top 30 with a number of 27 in the architecture category.

Under the engineering category, NIT Patna's ranking has increased somewhat this time, from 56 in 2023 to 55 this year. In the NIRF Engineering category, the institute has improved by 134 points, placing it at position 56 in NIRF 2023.

For the last five years in a row, NIT Patna's Engineering rating has steadily increased. The institute ranked 134th in 2019,and entered the top 100 in 2022 with a rank of 92,followed by 72 in 2021,63 in 2022,56 in 2023 and now in 2024,it is at 55.

NIRF Ranking: NIT Patna past five-year performance

The institution received scores of 59.63 in teaching, learning, and resources (TLR), 59.59 in research and professional practice (RPC), 45.84 in graduation outcomes (GO), 63.81 in outreach and inclusivity (OI), and 34.67 in perception, all out of 100, to secure the 19th rank in the NIRF 2023 architecture category.

As compared to, in 2024 the perception is 10.42, the GO is 74.16, the RPC is 43.86, the TLR is 60.91 out of 100, and the OI is 49.80. In spite of , NIT Patna, which is regarded as the sixth-oldest engineering college in the nation, was unable to secure a position in the 2024 Times Higher Education ranking or the 2025 QS World University ranking.

NIT Patna, which is known as Bihar College of Engineering Patna since 1924, provides BTech and BArch undergraduate programs. Moreover, MTech, MURP, DD, and MCA programs are offered at the postgraduate level.
