UGC invites HEIs to apply for ODL courses for 2024-25

UGC has invited HEIs to apply for online and distance learning courses for 2024-25, submissions has commenced from October 15, 2024.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has begun with accepting the applications from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to those eligible , for offering courses in Open and distance learning (ODL) and online modes for the academic session 2024-2025.The application stage commences from a day before , October 15,204 and will conclude in fortnight period by October 31,2024. The courses are set to start from February 2025 and beyond.

The higher institutions interested to apply for the same can submit their application on the official website through the portal. https://deb.ugc.ac.in/  Moreover a duly certified hard copy application along with the original affidavit and annexures must also be sent to the Joint Secretary, Distance Education Bureau, UGC situated in Feroze Shah Road, New Delhi – 110001. The last date to so is , November 15, 2024

As per the official notice of UGC, the fresh online applications are called in accordance with the Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) of the UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020, and its related amendments.

In addition, it is essential to note that while submitting the application, it does not guarantee the approval. All applications will first undergo a brief review based on the standards outlined in the UGC regulations.

The HEIs are advised to visit the UGC DEB website for brief details about the application fee and any other latest update. Moreover the deemed universities should obtain prior approval or a No objection certificate (NOC) from the AICTE for any programmes which are within its jurisdiction prior to their submission of application to the UGC DEB.

UGC is a statutory body in India responsible for coordinating and funding higher education. It provides grants to universities and colleges, sets standards for academic programs, and regulates higher education institutions. And now it has also collaborated with Indian embassy to expand its aim.
