Utkal University is a well-known public research university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It is one of the oldest universities (17th oldest) in the state of Odisha. Established on November 27, 1943, Utkal University holds a significant place in the educational and academic landscape of the region. Utkal University was established during the British colonial period and was the result of efforts to establish a higher education institution in the Odisha region. It was initially known as the "Utkal University Act 1943."The main campus of Utkal University is located in Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. The university has expanded over the years, and it has constituent colleges and departments offering a wide range of academic programs. The University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. These include arts, science, commerce, management, law, and social sciences. The university is known for its research activities and contributions to various fields. The foundation of this campus of Utkal University at Vanivihar Bhubaneswar was laid by Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
