UP Government Launches Ambitious Plan to Revive Sanskrit Education and Research

A scholarship programme for all Sanskrit students at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University has been introduced by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. According to Yogi's announcement, 69,195 Sanskrit students in the state will receive scholarships totaling Rs 586 lakh as part of the programme.

Yogi also advised students to register bank accounts in order to guarantee safe and easy money transfers.

Furthermore, he declared his intention to bring back residential Sanskrit schools in the Gurukul style throughout Uttar Pradesh. Special support will be given to institutions that provide free meals and lodging for students, giving these gurukul-like establishments more help. Additionally, the authority to hire competent acharyas will be granted to these gurukuls. According to him, the government is also setting up a "vedic science center" to encourage cutting-edge studies in the language.

With the new scholarship program, the Uttar Pradesh government is demonstrating its dedication to bringing back Sanskrit education and fusing old knowledge with contemporary technologies. Sanskrit's significance in sectors like computer science and artificial intelligence is being promoted by the government through the establishment of a Vedic Science Center and the backing of gurukul-style residential schools. In addition to helping children from low-income backgrounds, this program promotes a fresh understanding of Sanskrit as a language of heritage and scientific progress.
